Following the change, the Fourth Barricade was also informally renamed Cossack Redoubt (fort system).

The Tent CityThe observation platform of the Globus shopping mall

The self-organized Tent City became a kind of city within a city. With its system of governance, active cultural life, and mutual support among all, it was a model of the ideal society for which Maidan activists fought. There was an atmosphere of sincerity, cooperation, support, and creativity. Around barrels with fire, people could find centers for learning about history, philosophical discussions, and strategic planning.

About Project

See to understand

What do you know about the Revolution of Dignity? Maybe, you witnessed it, or even an active participant? Or, maybe, you were a child in 2014, and for you, this event is nothing more than a textbook paragraph. In any case, textbooks don’t talk about just any story. The Revolution of Dignity (or Euromaidan) became one of the pivotal points in Ukrainian history, and some would say in European or world history, changing the geopolitical alignment.

«Terra Dignitas AR»: «Museification of Maidan monuments»

This project is created to not only talk about the Euromaidan but to show 10 of the most known objects-locations (barricades, elements of the tent city, Yolka, which became one of the Maidan symbols) in the space of a modern city. Each object’s shape, proportions, and appearance were recreated with documentary precision with the help of materials from the archives of the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity.

When you find yourself wandering the Kyiv city center, you might revive history and see three-dimensional objects in the middle of a street or Square, depending on where they originally stood.

You can also see 3D models of everyday life and protection of Maidan participants.

Terra Dignitas AR is the first attempt to “revive” the Kyiv Maidan of 2013-2014 and recreate the image and spirit of the historical events of the Revolution of Dignity using augmented reality.

It is produced in partnership with ADVIN with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
